The Star of David

The Star of David
‘The Star of David, or hexagram, is one of the most enduring sacred geometric symbols, formed from two interlocking triangles that create a perfect union of opposing yet complementary forces.
Within Jewish tradition, the symbol became associated with divine protection, spiritual wisdom, sacred identity, and the relationship between humanity and the divine. The upward-pointing triangle has often been understood as representing the masculine principle — aspiration, consciousness, fire, and the movement toward spirit — while the downward-pointing triangle reflects the feminine principle — embodiment, intuition, creation, and the descent of spirit into matter.
Together, these two forms create a sacred balance between heaven and earth, masculine and feminine, spirit and body, action and receptivity. Though now deeply connected to Judaism, the hexagram also appears throughout ancient mystical traditions as a symbol of cosmic harmony, divine union, and the integration of duality within creation itself.
In contemporary symbolic interpretation, the Star of David can also represent inner wholeness, sacred relationship, and the reconciliation of polarities within the soul. Through its balanced geometry and interwoven structure, the symbol evokes unity, protection, spiritual alignment, and the harmonious dance between the masculine and feminine forces that shape existence.
