Been reflecting a lot on mental health - as its been mental health awareness day. And the power of creativity to soothe, move and restore harmony when there can be so much distress, fear and uncertainty. I have suffered in my life under the strain of mental health, as loved ones around me have, and as many I know have or do. I don't see it just as an individual issue but as a human condition that everyone is influenced by in some way at some time. In the deepest sense not knowing who you are at core creates a distorted lens on how you view or see. One that bypasses the subtle vulnerability of the Heart and separates the mind and the body. Creativity has certainly been and is a place I can engage when things get tough or intensity is happening. Where I can give myself permission to be okay with where I am, with who I am. No matter what the mind may try and tell me about myself or about life. Practicing a creativity, any creativity consciously that speaks to you can strengthen your ability to engage creatively on other levels in your life. Apart from the deep sense of nourishment, balance and fulfilment in engaging in creativity in this way - it can also teach you how to connect with the creative power that transforms what you relate to as actually being you. Creating art strengthens the ability to consciously create myself and transform any limiting mental perceptions that can arise. I apply this on and off the canvas. We all have access to this - it can start with choosing a creative outlet and turn into the power to become a living work of art.

I LOVE the unfolding power and beauty through the work with my online Art of the Sacred Wheel. It’s opening such newness and depth inside whilst also calling me into new places outside.
