Come and gather in the Sacred Art Gallery for a magical afternoon of connection, nourishment, ritual and creativity. In celebration of the lost ancient rituals of Mothers Night which were localised rituals throughout the night that celebrated the ancestry and lineages of women along with the Mother Goddess at this time of year. Mothers Night has now became associated with the birth of the light at Winter Solstice and with the start of the Yule period from early Anglo Saxon Christian traditions.
We will gather to honour this powerful spiritual threshold in a soft, gentle, candlelit afternoon as we cross from day to night and honour the liminal space, deepening and orientating your consciousness on the birth of the light and the spiritual sun of a higher consciousness - as you create Ritual Tools for on your altar or for your use in your home.
From the birth of the Sun at Solstice the Yule period is a powerful spiritual time of year and one that has been lost in our bling culture of Christmas along with all the pressures associated with it. This has been overlayed over a very ancient honouring practice of listening, dreaming, visioning and manifesting the light of the new Solar Consciousness which seeds at Winter Solstice with the rebirth of the Sun.
This gathering is a space to come and turn your awareness and attention towards the onset of the Yule period, to celebrate the deepening in the dark, to consciously harness the gifts of the threshold space of the ancient Mother Goddess, the land you stand on and honouring your female ancestors.
As we soften into the liminal space the promise of the return of the light beckons us forward. We will be imbuing the senses through:
Opening our gathering with a cacao ceremony and a short story telling about Mothers Night.
Creating ritual together to prepare and celebrate this turning
Creating Ritual Tools to use over Yule
Savouring a taster menu of Ritual foods and drink including a taste of the Goddess Chocolates.
You will be making two ritual tools to use over the Yule period:
Painting wood slice ornaments with meaningful symbols to hang on your tree or around your house.
Plus one other surprise Ritual Tool.
