  1. When you came to the workshop what inspired you to come and take part?

I thought it was a really interesting and unique concept. I had never heard of anything like this before and I wanted to do it with my mum.

  2. What did you receive, get to understand or learn about yourself and your body from creating your art on the I Am Woman day?

I was quite ill on the day with a migraine forming so it was hard to do but strangely easy at the same time - almost comforting to do it while feeling poorly. I normally can’t do anything at all when I feel like this so it really showed how I can do more than I think when I don’t feel well, and in life generally.

  3. What does it mean to you to have a female body in our modern day world?

I love being a woman. I love all the amazing things we can do like giving birth. We are amazing! I love being womanly and feminine. I love the sensuality of being a woman. However there is pressure to look a certain way and I have definitley been victim to that in my life. And it never mattered how little I ate, how much I exercised, how many people told me I was attractive or pretty, I still never felt good enough.

  4. How do you feel about your body today?

I haven’t usually liked my body. If anything I would say I have loathed my body even though I got reflected that I was attractive. I have started liking myself since I started to get tattooed. Now I look down at my body and I see a work of art and the story of me and what I love.
